Loved Up Hedgie

Hi Everyone!
Where has this week gone? I can't quite believe its the end of January already! To top it all I nearly missed the Penny Black Saturday Challenge which this week is 'January Sales' - an open theme to create something with items that you've bought in the sales. Well, better late than never - here is my entry. I've kept it simple and used a lovely little hedgie stamp with hearts stuck to his prickles. January also saw the arrival of some lovely Ameican Crafts textured foiled card in different colours in my craft room and a fab corner punch from XCuts which I've found to be great for slotting pics or images into and using like a photo corner. A little faux stitching, a peel off and a lace flower that I made myself and my little card is complete. I hope you like it.

Have a good week and pop over to the Penny Black Saturday Challenge site to see what task is instore for us over the next seven days.
I'd also like to enter this card in the Simon Says Stamp Challenge which this week is 'Animal Antics'.

Best wishes and bye for now

Butterfly Lady Tag

Hi Everyone!

I hope you've had a good week. Today I'd like to share with you another of my tag cards which I'd like to enter in the Simon Says Stamp 'Bingo' challenge. I chose to use embossing, a diecut and stamped frame and ribbon both inside and outside the card. As I love my techniques I also inked and glimmer misted my background and butterflies and added Distress Stickles to my frame. I really enjoyed creating a vintage look and hope you enjoy this card as much as I enjoyed making it.
Best wishes

Hedgie Challenge

Evening Everyone!
Just a quick post to show you my latest card. I hope to enter this in the Penny Black and Friends Saturday Challenge so my image features one of my favourite - and cute - little hedgies. I've created an easel card with an extra little tag inside. The papers are DCWV and I've embellished it with green gingham ribbon and a charm. The flowers were stamped, coloured with the Pro Markers and covered with Glossy Accents whilst the centres were created by adding tiny micro beads which I think give a really good effect - I will definately use them again. For a change I used copper coloured mirri board.
I would also like to enter it in the Totally Papercrafts Challenge which this week is Happy Birthday and the Creative Card Crew's 'Fancy Folds' challenge.
I hope you like my latest creation. Thanks for looking.

For King and Country

Hello Everyone!

I've been continuing my family history layouts - this time with one of my great grandfather. I gained inspiration from the Friday Sketch Challenge on the Bo Bunny blog and am really pleased with the results. I used Bo Bunny's Cambridge papers , cut elements from the sheets, distressed them or mounted them on gold embossed card. I threaded twine through one of the border strips and added a Tim Holtz 'journey' tag to give the effect of a medal. I know very little about my great grandfather's military career as this period of his life is next on my long list of things to research but for the time being I hope I've given a good military feel to the layout. I love the regal colours and Bo Bunny's papers are always fab to work with.

Thanks for looking - the pic is not ideal as the light in the evening on these dark and rainy nights is not great for photography - roll on summer and the light nights again!
I'd love to hear about anyone elses family history layouts!
Best wishes

New Beginnings

Evening Everyone!

Hope you have all had a nice Saturday. This week the Penny Black Saturday Challenge is back up and running after the Christmas break with the theme of New Beginnings. I've decided to enter a card to welcome in the New Year with my cork popping Penny Black Mouse and some lovely foiled Kanban card stock - I made it into one of those 'pop up' cards to continue the 'popping' theme!

Hope you like it and if you fancy entering why not 'pop' over to their blog and join in! ha! ha!
I would also like to enter this into the Simon Says Stamp Challenge and the Creative Card Crew Challenge which are both also for New Beginnings.
Have a nice evening everyone.

Bye for now

New Friends!

Hi - back again with my 'two in one day' post!
I love House Mouse as you may already know from some of my previous posts so when I discovered they had a fab blog hop over at the House Mouse and Friends Challenge I had to join in. The challenge was to make a card with the theme 'New'. As I'd made this card for a fairly new friend's birthday and the little mice in the image looked like they were all great friends sharing their chocolates, I'd like to enter this decoupage card. Hope you like it and if you're a House Mouse groupie like me - head on over to the challenge site and join in!
Best wishes

Tag and Tell!

Hi All!
As I continue to be inspired by pics of my family and ancestors and try to make lasting keepsakes connected to my family history, this week I decided to join in with the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge - which is to design something using your newest stamps or alternatively a stamp that you have had for ages but never used. I decided to go for the second option and used a butterfly stamp I had from Elusive Images alongside an oval frame stamp from the Papermania Chatsworth collection.
I did plenty of embossing - gold on the frame and a green Cosmic Shimmer lustre on the butterflies, embossed the tag background with the Divine Swirls pattern and highlighted it with the Perfect Pearls mica powders. A little distressing with our favourite inks, a sentiment printed on my computer with a touch of Distress Stickles completed the look before I added ribbon and mounted the whole thing on a card layered with K&Co Life's Journey papers. I also hope to enter this into the Artistic Stamper's challenge of 'Things With Wings'. This is a fab site which I have only recently discovered so if you love your stamping - why not pop over there!
I hope you like it!
Thanks for looking. Bye for now
